Chad is an Arkansas City, Kansas, native and after graduating high school, joined the U.S. Marine Corps. After his service in the Marines, he went back to Arkansas City and attended Cowley County Community College and received his Associate of Applied Science Degree in Criminal Justice in 1999. After receiving his associate, he spent approximately five years in law enforcement with the Mulvane Police Department, Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Department, and the Arkansas City Police Department. After his law enforcement career, he moved to Topeka, Kansas, and attended Washburn University where he received his Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice (Magna Cum Laude) in 2005. He then proceeded to Law School at Washburn University School of Law and graduated with the degree of Juris Doctor (Dean’s Honors) in 2008. While at Washburn University School of Law he obtained his Certificate of Advocacy (with distinction).
He started his legal career with a local law firm in Arkansas City as an Associate. Shortly thereafter he took a position with the County Attorney’s Office in Cowley County where he worked for approximately three years as a Deputy County Attorney. After leaving the Cowley County Attorney’s Office he began practicing as a sole practitioner and then transitioned into his current firm of Soule & Giles LLC Attorneys At Law with his law partner and longtime friend Clayton Soule. Chad is a current member and past President of the Cowley County Bar Association. He has served on the Board of Governors with the Kansas Bar Association. He is active in his community where he has served as a City Commissioner and Mayor in Arkansas City.
Chad’s experience as a law enforcement officer, prosecutor, and defense attorney gives him a perspective into the Criminal Justice System that few attorneys can match and provide him with an excellent foundation to defend his clients.
Chad has been a practicing attorney in good standing in the State of Kansas and the District of Kansas since 2008 and has the experience to handle a great variety of cases including criminal defense, DUI/traffic, juvenile offender, Child in Need of Care, collections and much more. Chad has been married to his wife Fallon since 2002 and has three children, Mylee, Maddon, and Meah.
Clayton E. Soule was born and raised in Arkansas City, Kansas. Following graduation from Arkansas City High School, Clayton attended Cowley County Community College on a baseball scholarship. During this time, he and his teammates won two consecutive NJCAA World Series Championships in 1997 and 1998. Mr. Soule’s passion for baseball and structure led him to The Citadel Military College of Charleston, South Carolina; best known for its Corps of Cadets of which Clayton played baseball, lived, and studied under a classical military system that makes character development an essential part of the education experience, graduating in 2001. Clayton then became a Jayhawk obtaining his J.D. from the University of Kansas School of Law in Lawrence, Kansas.
After Law School, Clayton worked for an Insurance company in Kansas City, Kansas focusing on commercial liability law. In 2007, Clayton decided to return to his small-town roots and returned to Arkansas City. Clayton expanded his practice of law at Taylor Krusor and Soule, LLP in Winfield Kansas. In 2012 Clayton and his long-time high school classmate and friend Chad Giles opened their current law firm In downtown Arkansas City, Soule & Giles LLC Attorneys At Law, where he focuses on a variety of law including Family, Divorce, Criminal, Probate, Personal Injury, Worker’s Compensation, Medical Malpractice, Civil, and Contract Law. With experience and trial victories as counsel for plaintiffs and defendants in civil litigation, Clayton brings excellent, well-rounded experience to the table.
Clayton is committed to the community of Cowley County, where he and his wife Brandy, Human Resource Manager of Western Industries, Inc. have chosen to work and raise their five children; Braylee, Dallas, twins Kale and Kyce, and Greyson.
